Categories: Fluid

Material Notes: Empirical formula: C6H16O2Si

CAS No.: 78-62-6

Product description: Clear, colorless liquid. Dimethyldiethoxysilane hydrolyzes in contact with water to highly reactive silanols, which further condense to oligomeric and polymeric siloxanes. In general, precise pH control is important for the reproducibility of the hydrolysis, and the quality and stability of the hydrolysis product.

Application: WACKER® SILANE M2-DIETHOXY can be used:

  • for the synthesis of chemical intermediates
  • for hydrophobization of surfaces (glass, pigments)
