Material Notes:	Continuous filament, high modulus strands made from a pitch precursor. The fiber surface has been treated to increase the interlaminar shear strength in a resin matrix composite. This type of fiber was developed for use in stiffness critical applications. 4000 filaments/strand, 99+% carbon assay, 11 µm filament diameter, 1.4 m/g yield, 0 tpm twist, 0.361 mm² fiber area in yarn cross section. Solvay has acquired the Thornel product line as a part of the Cytec purchase.
