| Product Description: AKROWAX Micro 23 is a 100% microcrystalline wax. Microcrystalline refers to the complex mixture of long chain straight paraffins, branched paraffins, as well as mono and polycyclic aliphatic materials. The high molecular weight gives this wax a high melt point; the branching results in a flexible wax film. AKROWAX 23 migrates slowly to the surface of a rubber part. For this reason it should not be used alone for ozone protection. Typically, Micro 23 wax is blended with fast migrating, lower melt point paraffin waxes to provide a bloomed film that has good flexibility and has a wide service temperature range. Akrochem has a wide line of pre-blended waxes to fit most applications. Microcrystalline wax also functions as a good internal release and flow promoter in rubber compounds. This wax complies with F.D.A.
