| Product Description: AKROWAX 5073 is a fully refined paraffin wax derived from petroleum. It is a hard, white crystalline material. The high degree of purity and low odor makes this wax suitable for many applications, including food packaging. Resistance to most acids and alkalis is very good. Oxidation can occur, particularly under prolonged storage at high temperatures. This wax does contain an oxidation inhibitor. AKROWAX 5073 is used in rubber to give ozone resistance. It inhibits cracking and frosting in NR, SBR, CR and NBR. Use 5073 for good ozone protection at higher temperatures: 35°C to 50°C. Use Akrowax 130 and 145 at lower temperatures (0°C to 40°C) or use a pre-blended wax for full range protection. This wax complies with F.D.A. Regulations for use as indirect or direct food additives described in Code of Federal Regulations, Title 21, Chapter 1, Section 172.886 and 178.3710 as well as 177.2600, Rubber Articles Intended For Repeated Use.Information provided by Akrochem Corporation |
